Donald Trump and iPhones production in India
President Donald Trump of the United States opposes the production of iPhones in India. Recently, he urged Apple Inc. not to manufacture iPhones in India. Trump has advised Apple CEO Tim Cook to prioritize India’s own interests. You should focus on manufacturing in the United States.
Trump stated, “I recently had a conversation with Tim Cook. During that time, I told him that we (the U.S. government) are treating you very well. However, I heard that you are setting up factories in India. If you want to help India, that’s fine, but India is one of the countries that taxes us the most. Selling there is difficult. Instead, you should focus on manufacturing in America.”
